4th of July fireworks display at PVL
From Heidi Koch on NextDoor -- Hey neighbors! As many of us know it’s a yearly tradition here to have an amazing fireworks display over the water. As we recently lost both of our beloved neighbors Dot and Ed Lang, who were the last family to spearhead the yearly displays, Tom Bush and family will be taking the reigns (AGAIN) to continue the tradition!
He will be setting off the display at the lower entrance and requests all boats to stay back in the deeper water, beyond the buoys. We really have a great neighborhood family here. Tom Bush will have his fireworks display at 9 PM on Saturday, July 8th. Save the date!
As in the past, so many of you have came together with heartfelt donations. If you feel inclined, financial contributions can be sent to the lodge or directly to Tom. All will go directly to the display. Tom’s address is 1557 Lakeshore Drive. The lodge address is 3408-A Peaceful Valley Road.
You can also drop them off in the office. As always, fireworks are free, donations are NOT REQUIRED but are very much appreciated! ☺️ Looking forward to a great 4th!

Burn Pit Evolving to Compost Area
The burn area re-opened as the new Compost Area April 3. Don Gauzy made signs that direct compost, such as leaves and grass clippings, to one side and brush/limbs to the other side. Separation will aid the composting effort that should be an environmentally friendly bonus for everyone.
The board has acquired a chipper so we can make compost and mulch, recycling most yard waste rather than burning. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has been in communication with our association regarding burning on the premises. They instruct that no centralized burning of yard vegetation can be done if any homes are within 200 yards.
Don will manage some burning when conditions are optimal, notifying fire control agencies as needed. Since the tractor is back on duty, Don will be able to move piles of yard waste around as well, expanding the areas for burning and mulching.
Please only dump there when the chain is down and DO NOT light any piles. IF YOU LIGHT A FIRE in the burn/compost area, you risk MO DNR levying a fine against the PVPOA. The area is monitored with a security camera. Residents may continue to burn their own yard waste on their own property. If you do, please apply common sense and be safety conscious
