ATTENTION ANGLERS: For the 2021-22 fall, winter, and spring seasons, please observe Catch and Release to help replenish the fish population
Our success with eradicating the lake vegetation that plagued us over the past few years has a major downside for anglers—there’s much less fish cover for smaller fish to hide while they grow. Also, the staggering increase in fishing last year during the pandemic ended up significantly decreasing the sport fish population in the lake. For the next year, we’re asking anglers to practice catch and release for Bass, Crappie, and Bluegill to allow them to replenish the stock. We do ask that you help eliminate some invasive species, notably Drum, and Blue and Flathead Catfish. If you catch these please either keep them or dispose of properly.
Disregard the following as we will be requesting the Department of Conservation to shock the lake before the next season starts and we will reassess whether to continue with the catch and release or reestablish the former limits below.
